“My symptoms were an extremely fast heart rate (141 beats per minute) which made it very difficult for me to walk any distance without having to stop several times to get my breath.  I was unable to do every day things like, vacuuming and housework.  I was unable to go shopping.

My treatment for my condition – atrial flutter – involved an overnight stay in hospital. l had a general anaesthetic and was in theatre for about 1½ hours.

Once over the effects of the anaesthetic l felt so much better, in fact l couldn’t believe how much better l felt immediately. l am so glad l had the procedure, l am able to work and do daily tasks without any problems or breathlessness.

I was extremely happy with the service from the Birmingham Heart Rhythm Group and l owe a massive thank you to Dr Mike Griffith and all the team who attended in the theatre.

I would like to say a great big thank you to Michelle Peart, practice manager of the Birmingham Heart Rhythm Group who was so kind and helpful.

I was really worried about the procedure and she helped me with any queries. THANK YOU MICHELLE.”
